HEBAHAN TIMBALAN NAIB CANSELOR (AKADEMIK & ANTARABANGSA) BIL. 5/2022 PANDUAN PERSIAPAN PENGAJARAN DAN PEMBELAJARAN SEMESTER 1, SIDANG AKADEMIK 2022/2023


1. Selaras dengan keputusan Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi membenarkan kemasukan secara fizikal mulai Mac 2022, adalah dimaklumkan pihak Universiti telah bersetuju bagi kemasukan pelajar Semester 1, Sidang Akademik 2022/2023 pada Oktober 2022 sepertimana berikut :
a) Pelajar Ijazah Pertama – Kemasukan Secara Fizikal Sepenuhnya di mana sesi Pengajaran dan
Pembelajaran (PdP) akan dijalankan secara bersemuka
b) Pelajar Pasca Siswazah – Kemasukan Secara Fizikal dan Hibrid di mana sesi Pengajaran dan
Pembelajaran (PdP) akan dijalankan secara bersemuka dan dalam talian.

2. Dalam hal ini, pihak Pusat Pengajian/ Pusat Tanggungjawab (PTJ) perlu mengenalpasti pelajarpelajar yang akan kembali ke kampus dan merancang pelaksanaan PdP dengan sebaiknya.

3. Pelan Pengajaran bagi setiap kursus untuk Semester 1, 2022/2023 perlu dinyatakan dengan jelas sama ada sesi kuliah/ sesi pembelajaran berkenaan akan diadakan secara bersemuka atau secara dalam talian atau hibrid. Pelan pengajaran ini perlu diedarkan dan dimaklumkan kepada semua pelajar, terutamanya untuk pelajar dari pusat pengajian lain yang boleh mengambil kursus ini.

4. Para pelajar diminta mematuhi panduan kemasukan pelajar ke kampus seperti yang ditetapkan oleh Pusat Pengurusan Bencana (Nerve Centre) USM dari semasa ke semasa.

5. Pelajar disaran menjalankan ujian kendiri sebelum kemasukan ke kampus dan bagi pelajar yang mempunyai gelaja atau berstatus kontak rapat perlu menangguhkan dahulu untuk masuk ke kampus sehingga keadaan kembali sihat.

6. Pelajar antarabangsa boleh merujuk kepada “USM International Student Pass Guideline” di pautan: http://imcc.usm.my/v2/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/edited-Final-Visa-informationbooklet-.pdf berkaitan visa pelajar bagi tujuan persediaan kemasukan pada semester hadapan.

7. Bagi kes pelajar antarabangsa yang gagal mendapatkan visa, sesi pengajaran dan pembelajaran boleh diteruskan secara hybrid.

8. Penyelarasan penempatan Dewan Kuliah dan Bilik Tutorial bagi kelas bersemuka akan dilaksanakan oleh (UPKP) Unit Perkhidmatan dan Kemudahan Pusat, Jabatan Pendaftar melalui Sistem Pengagihan Kuliah Universiti (SPKU).

9. Semua urusan pelajar kembali ke kampus perlu mengikut ketetapan pihak Bahagian Hal Ehwal Pembangunan Pelajar & Alumni (BHEPA), manakala hal penginapan di desasiswa adalah tertakluk kepada keputusan Pusat Perumahan & Penginapan Universiti (HAC). Pemilihan kemasukan penginapan di desasiswa pada semester akan datang akan ditentukan berdasarkan Sistem MyCSD.

10. Sistem penasihatan akademik hendaklah dimantapkan supaya komunikasi di antara penasihat akademik dan pelajar dapat dipastikan berkesan.

12. Pelajar dinasihati agar peka kepada semua pemberitahuan oleh pihak Universiti dan Pusat Pengajian dari masa ke semasa.

13. Diminta kerjasama pihak Pusat Pengajian/PTJ untuk mewar-warkan hebahan ini kepada semua
pelajar ijazah pertama dan pelajar pasca ijazah.

OFFICE OF DEPUTY VICE-CHANCELLOR (ACADEMIC & INTERNATIONAL) CIRCULAR NO. 5/2022: TEACHING AND LEARNING GUIDELINES SEMESTER 1, ACADEMIC SESSION 2022/2023


1. In line with the decision of the Ministry of Higher Education to allow physical classes to be held starting March 2022, the University has agreed to conduct admission of students for Semester 1, Academic Session 2022/2023 in October 2022 as follows:


a)Undergraduate Students – Fully Physical which will involve face-to-face teaching and learning
sessions.
b) Postgraduate Students – Fully Physical and Hybrid, with both face-to-face and online teaching
and learning sessions.


2. Schools/Centres (PTJ) will need to identify the students who will return to campus and plan the teaching and learning design properly.


3. The teaching plan for each course for Semester 1, 2022/2023 must clearly state whether the lecture sessions/classes will be held face-to-face, online or hybrid sessions. All students, particularly those from other schools who can enrol in a particular course, need to be informed about the teaching plan.

4. Students are required to adhere to the guidelines established by the USM Nerve Centre to enter the campus from time to time.


5. Before entering the campus, students are encouraged to perform a COVID self-test, and those who exhibit symptoms or having a close contact status are advised to postpone from entering the campus.

6. International students having student visas who will be entering the campus in the upcoming semester may consult the "USM International Student Pass Guideline" at the following URL:

7. Sessions for teaching and learning may go on in a hybrid session for international students who are unable to secure a visa.

8. The Central Service and Facility Unit (UPKP), Registrar Department will coordinate the Lecture Hall and Tutorial Room for face-to-face classes using the University Lecture Distribution System (SPKU).

9. The Student Development Affairs & Alumni Division (BHEPA) has established guidelines for all matters involving students returning to the campus, while the University Housing & Accommodation Centre (HAC) will make decisions regarding student accommodations. The selection of hostel entries in the upcoming semester will be determined based on the MyCSD
System.

10. The Academic Advisory System at Schools/PTJs should be strengthened to ensure good communication between academic advisors and students.

12. Students are advised to be aware of all notices from the University and the Schools from time to time.
